Old School set to become houses? Decision DEFERRED again!
Planning Notice     Old School

A Planning application has been submitted for planning permission to demolish the old village school in Rectory Road, Little Oakley, and to replace it with houses. If you want to make your views on this known to Tendring District Council, then click here to visit the planning application online, and click on 'submit comments' to send your comments to Tendring District Council.

This planning application was referred to the Development Control Committee. This meeting was originally scheduled to take place in the council chamber at the Weeley Council Offices on March 6th at 7pm. However, it was deferred as English Heritage were going to inspect the property with a view to listing it.

The application was then heard in the council chamber at the Weeley Council Offices on 30th May at 7pm

A vote to approve the application was lost and the decision of the committee was to DEFER the decision once again, in the hope that the applicant could be persuaded to consider converting the existing building rather than demolishing it and building 2 new houses in it's place.

Hopefully either the applicant will reconsider their demolition plans, or the committee will next time consider refusing the application on the grounds that the site does not allow sufficient visibility to the left from the proposed vehicular access points.
